Kyle Anderson of Rapid City, MI landed this 50lb., 8oz. Great Lakes Muskie on September 27, 2009, setting a new Michigan state record. The old record from 1984 was beaten by 2.5lbs. It is reported that the fish actually was 5lbs. heavier when it was tagged earlier by the DNR. The muskie was 55 inches long. "The fish hit hard. I could hardly get the rod out of the holder," says Anderson. The muskie hit the lure just 50 feet back from the prop wash on one of three rods that Anderson was trolling with. Anderson is an avid fisherman who has logged over 25,000 miles on his boat and describes himself as a Muskie junkie. Congrats Kyle! Photos Courtesy of David Rose
