Description
The Alden Train Depot is a focal point for activities in the town of Alden. It houses a historical musuem with memorabilia of the community from the late 19th and early 20th century when the Pere Marquette railroad steamed through town. The restored 1908 depot sits on the shores of Torch Lake and has transformed itself into a beautiful park with benches, volleyball and sitting areas overlooking the water. The Alden Volunteers have done an amazing job bringing the history back to life. There is an old engine with a flat car that has been converted into a stage followed by the traditional red caboose. There are many events held at the Alden Depot throughout the year.
